I am working with a large organisation who are going through a Technical refresh and Transformation Project. As part of this I am looking to bring in four Application Support Analysts (on a fixed term until the end of December 2019), who will help deliver applications and database support.
This will include managing the development, implementation, upgrades, decommissioning and maintaining BAU processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Core responsibilities and duties will include:
Monitoring application performance, managing application availability and maximising the effectiveness of the Corporate applications to business users and citizens.
Undertake day to day operational support for all supported applications and databases, responding to calls made on the ICT Service desk. This includes development, implementation, upgrades, decommissioning and maintaining the existing application and database portfolio. This will ensure the whole application portfolio is fit for purpose and available for use.
Ensuring that all ICT service desk calls are dealt with and to work with customers, third party suppliers and colleagues to ensure effective communication is maintained and that agreed performance levels are met, including ensuring support calls and developments are progressed.
Undertaking all the administrative duties required of the post and working within the agreed ITIL framework.
Ensuring all supported Databases comply with security and information sharing capability requirements ensuring compliance issues are met and the data is secure.
Providing performance management information - for recharging and monitoring.
Specialist Skills and Knowledge
Essential skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfil the role include, but are not limited to:
A good knowledge with practical experience of a number of programming languages, and a proven track records for developing and maintaining program code, over a wide range of languages and business applications.
Being an effective communicator, with the ability to explain complicated technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrating the desire and ability to learn new technologies and skills.
Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
This is a fixed term contact running until the end of December 2019.
