I am working with a public-sector organisation who have recently brought development of their internal systems in-house and re-located from London to Manchester. They are looking to add Full Stack & Front End Developers to their team to move to the next stage of an ambitious and large-scale systems transformation project.
This company was reliant on an off the shelf product for about 20 years, which has had the same features and usability with no improvements. The third party that provided this product hadn't modernised the product for years and my client had struggled to hire people with experience in the development language they designed it in.
To deliver the improvements demanded by the business, it was decided to build an in-house product to replace this system and they wanted to develop this in house to avoid these problems going forwards.
They have recently released their minimum viable product and are now at the stage of the project where they need to develop further parts to this product to be at a stage where the new system is at a like for like with the old one. The final stage of the project is then to make improvements that departments in this company have been requesting for some years.
You will have an Agile outlook to development and enjoy collaboration and team work. An interest in pair programming would be an advantage as the right developer will be keen to learn from and teach other members of the team.
My client doesn't expect you to know everything - this is an environment where learning is encouraged. But they do expect you do be an experienced developer to have the right underlying learning attitude. My client encourages personal development and aim to grow the team alongside the digital solutions.
The core knowledge you need will be an understanding of the following:-
Java for our back-end services (desirable for Full Stack Developer)
Angular for our front-end applications (Front End Developer)
MySQL, MSSQL & Redis databases.
