Head of Data Center Operations – Nottingham – £80,000 – £90,000

My client are one the household names in the retail market across both the UK and globally. In order to take their next step in their journey they require a Head of Data Center Operations to manage the effective running of their Data centres, Systems Maintenance and BAU tickets. The team own the Exchange, monitoring and the ongoing support and maintenance for their core internal Systems, as well as deal with 3rd line escalations as appropriate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the technical team members responsible for Data Centre Operations, Systems

  • Maintenance and BAU

    • Develop the team, manage their performance

    • Recruit team members as needed

  • As a member of the Infrastructure Management team you will work closely with all the other heads to ensure a fully joined up service is provided.

  • Act as a product owner for the team, providing guidance on the priority of work, and escalated decisions to senior stakeholders as needed

  • Work with allocated Delivery Managers to enhance ways of working to ensure a consistent and well organise flow of work

  • Own the relationship with 3rd parties the team are working with

  • Take responsibility the monitoring strategy within Systems looking at both existing and new tools and ensuring there are no gaps in our monitoring offering.

  • Working with the Head of Cloud, Systems Projects and New Tech to ensure that Data Centre and Cloud strategies align.

In order to be considered it is essential you have folowing skills and experience:

  • Previous experience Leading Data Center Operations

  • Experience of line managing a team of 8+ people

  • Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate work to non-technical stakeholders

  • Agile ways of working

  • Proven track record of successfully working with the Microsoft Technology and Collaboration stack
