Job Description

I am working with a large organisation who are at the start of a large project that aims to implement an integrated social care and education case management solution that replaces numerous disparate systems ensuring best-practice business processes, migrated data from multiple systems, trained staff from a number of agencies on optimum use of the solution and integration with key systems using open standards.

The aim of the solution is to create a 'single version of the truth', creating one record for people who need support so they do not get lost in transition between services or in different phases of their life. It will support citizens and clients, providing the ability to adopt a 'tell us once' approach across all required services and agencies. The solution will also support accurate evidence-based commissioning across all people-based services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Core responsibilities and duties will include:

  1. Planning and monitoring projects, ensuring projects adhere to identified time, quality

and cost constraints and that business benefits are realised

  1. Preparing and maintaining project plans as required, ensuring that key milestones and activities are identified and scheduled with clear ownership

  1. Reporting through agreed lines on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments, supporting programme governance assurance on understanding of progress of projects and corrective action required to ensure that projects are successfully completed

  1. Managing project risks and issues, including the development of contingency plans, to ensure that risks/issues are clearly identified, owned and mitigated

  1. Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary, to enable projects to have sufficient resources to be successfully completed and deliver identified benefits

  1. Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards to ensure the quality of the delivables

Specialist Skills and Knowledge

Essential skills, knowledge and experience required to fulfil the role include, but are

not limited to:

  • Proficient in the use of MS Project to develop and maintain project plans

  • Experience of successfully managing multiple projects
