Solution Architect / Nottingham or remote / Salary circa £60,000 per annum

Access IT & Digital Talent are working with a client who are current recruiting for a Solutions Architect to come in and work closely with IT Infrastructure, Development, Database and Project teams as well as Senior Management across IT and the wider business.

As Solutions Architect you will be involved from the early stages of projects to ensure requirements are met, produce high quality solutions with detailed technical documentation to be used by implementation teams, exploit new technologies to support the business’s objective and ensure existing solutions are reviewed and well documented.

Ideally the client is looking for a candidate who lives a commutable distance from Nottingham, but they can also consider someone who is based fully remote.

Key Tasks include….

• Documentation and maintenance of the existing estate architecture

• Continuously looking for opportunities to improve IT systems including re-engineering, systems retirement, and system consolidation

• Designing / evaluating solution designs that meet both project and business requirements; includes accurate estimation of anticipated effort, time, and costs such as licencing impacts.

• Producing high quality and deliverable project solutions designs

• Assisting in the specification and procurement process for new solutions; being responsible for determining that they are technically fit for purpose, for their effective integration into the existing architecture and compliance with accepted standards and the architecture roadmap.

• Assisting in the resolution of major issues that may be related to systems design or integration.

• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and trends relevant to the business and its activities including competitor technical activity

• The ownership, elaboration and maintenance of the Buzz solution roadmap and its alignment to the Technology Strategy

• The assessment of solution options against project and strategic requirements

• Being accountable for designs adhering to Data, Integration, Security and Infrastructure roadmaps and standards

Essential experience

• Good technical knowledge in all of the following: Azure platform, .Net, MS SQL Server family, No-SQL DBs, and CRM

• Demonstrable experience in systems integration & services design

• Strong experience of Technical Architecture

• A proven ability to deliver flexible, reliable, supportable, cost effective IT solution designs

• An understanding of cost models for cloud service use – designing for cost efficiency

• Experience of documenting and discussing complex data requirements

• Capability to articulate complex ideas and requirements to suppliers and stakeholders in a simple way

Desirable skills

• Good knowledge and experience of SOA, Microservice and Integration architectures including legacy integration

• Experience with Embedded systems and Mobile development, knowledge of Xamarin an advantage

• Familiarity with AI & ML cloud-based services

• Familiarity with established architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
