Automation Test Consultant - Sheffield is the primary location however travel required - Salary negotiable + benefits

I am currently recruiting for an Automation Test Consultant with strong experience in developing & implementing Keyword and data driven automation frameworks using UFT / QTP.

You will be working in an automation test role on a large transformation / integration project and will have experience ideally within enterprise scale environments

Essential skills required;

  • Extensive experience on HP UFT/QTP

  • Sound knowledge of working in expert view of UFT and VB Scripting

  • Experience in developing and implementing Keyword and data driven automation frameworks

  • Knowledge of managing UFT automated tests in HP ALM/Quality Centre

  • Exposure to ALM open API based custom development

  • Experience of using Terminal Emulator Add-in.

Profile of Automation Team members

  • Must be experts in the use of UFT/QTP

  • Must have a good understanding of ALM/QC, ideally to Object Model level

  • Ideally have skills and experience across a range of automation tools

  • Ideally have experience of both agile and waterfall SDLCs

  • Must have a good appreciation of technical frameworks and their benefits - ideally strong experience of their use

  • Must be a good communicator. You will need to be able to present complex topics in simple language

  • Must have good analysis skills. This will span both requirements analysis and systems analysis - will need to work with projects to understand their needs and then implement an appropriate solution.

  • Must be a good stakeholder manager - must be able to persuade and/or enforce. This will require a level of assertiveness and diplomacy.

  • Must have an aptitude for (informal) training.

  • Must be proactive and able to work independently - will be given engagements that you will be expected to 'own' and drive to successful completion.

  • Must be prepared to travel and stay away from home overnight - the teams you will support are nationwide and engagements will typically require a degree of initial on-site support (as well as pre-delivery on-site interaction).
