Automation Tester - 18 Month FTC - £30-£39K - Sheffield

The Company

The Role

This role is key in an Enterprise wide change and transformation project aimed at simplifying and centralising existing processes. You will be a focal member of the Test Team providing guidance and expertise which will be essential to a number of project work streams across the full testing Lifecycle.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrable experience of developing Test Automation Strategies/Approaches and designing and implementing appropriate Automation Frameworks.
  • Experience of analysing requirements and manual BDD Tests and translating them into effective and efficient automated tests
  • Experience and ability to guide Developers into employing TDD
  • Good knowledge of Continuous Integration in an Agile environment
  • Extensive experience in test automation using a variety of tools, technologies and techniques
  • Extensive experience of SOAPUI and Selenium Web Driver
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of longer-term implications.
  • Ability to assess and organise resources, and plan and progress work activities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills.

  • Experience of using Jenkins for continuous integration.

  • Experience of using GitHub to manage and control source code.

  • Experience of using JIRA to manage and track bugs throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ability to produce quality, reusable and maintainable automated tests.
