Job Description

My client, a leading consultancy, is looking to engage a BI Developer on a 1 year fixed term basis.

The postholder will work to a BI delivery workplan(s) as directed. This will involve the development and maintenance of the Business Intelligence Data Warehouse as well as supporting the specification and creation of visualisations to meet customer needs. The postholder will be expected to work in a sometimes pressured environment where the customer relies on our BI services to base their key commissioning and performance decisions.

Must have the following skills.

  • Highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SQL Engine, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, MDX, DAX) and development tools (SSDT, Visual Studio).

  • Proficient in web technologies (ASP.NET/PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript)

  • Proficient in the use of source control (GIT)

  • Strong communication skills - including the ability to explain highly technical information to non-specialists, and senior managers.

  • Experience of working to and achieving tight deadlines in a pressured and complex environment requiring prioritisation of workloads and negotiation of delivery timescales.

  • Has a responsive, solution focused approach to addressing issues and barriers.

  • Escalates issues quickly and proactively.

  • Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and ensure a customer focused response.

  • Able to build and sustain effective relationships, actively involving stakeholders where appropriate.

  • Credible, trustworthy and able to inspire confidence in others.

  • Able to manage conflict through experience of working with customers to agree deadlines and priorities.

  • Positive advocate of change and assist in changing existing methods of working and performance.

  • Dedicated to ensuring ever-improving standards in terms of their own performance.

  • Remains positive even in times of conflict.
