Data Analyst/ Metadata / Milton Keynes / £50,000 - £60,000 per annum plus bonus + benefits
Access IT recruitment are working with a client who are going through an exciting period due to the development of new company wide data capability framework.
They are forming two key foundation capabilities through the creation of two new teams: Metadata Management & Data Architecture which will allow them to really understand their data.
The organisations vision is to decentralise the metadata and to advise, mentor, guide, drive and ease the crowd-sourcing of this with accountability accepted by the company's domain users.
This is a role for a candidate who loves organising data and the first phase of the strategic effort is to collect the client's data dictionaries. This will link together the hundreds of systems with the hundreds of people who know the data in these systems.
This role will be the glue that joins these systems and people together.
Ideally candidates will have previous experience with Metadata but this isn't essential. I'm keen to speak with candidates who have a real passion for data and who understand the value it can bring to organisations and who have the ability to influence stakeholders/senior leaders. I'm also keen to talk to people with a mathematical, statistical or scientific background.
- Have worked on at least one project/used one tool dedicated to metadata collection, ingestion, analysis or distribution
- Knowledge and understanding of metadata standards and processes
- Experience working with partners to identify and resolve metadata issues, conducting impact and/or gap analysis of metadata
- An understanding of the difference between business glossaries and data dictionaries
- Good experience with a range of IT systems and an understanding of the IT life-cycle.
This is an exciting time to join a large-scale transformation project through the application of new technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop and other open source technologies and the implementation of new methods of work.
The team are driven, agile and lean and work in a challenging, collaborative and dynamic environment. If you are an ambitious individual who wants their work to have a real impact then this could be the opportunity for you.
The organisation can offer a competitive salary and annual bonus scheme, generous pensions scheme, private medical insurance, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, access to on-site gyms, discounted gym memberships and retail discounts.
