I am working with an NHS organisation to recruit an Deputy IT Director to manage the delivery of ICT services across the Trust.
This role will have responsibility for the delivery of the Trust capital programme for ICT with associated budget (circa £5m) and will support the development of the Trust ICT strategy in line with business requirements and process redesign. The postholder will ensure that all ICT related issues are comprehensively and effectively addressed through proactive and best practice ICT services and the effective management of any associated contracts. Telecomms sits within the IT function with responsibility for switchboard and its operatives. They will also represent PAH on health economy wide ICT fora and issues, as required.
You will work with clinicians and managers to identify opportunities to use ICT and business intelligence to drive innovation and improvements in service provision, clinical outcomes and business efficiency.
Capital Programme/ EPR
The Trust is required to deliver a complex suite of essential new clinical information systems.
This will be based on a best of breed approach which will include the following;
Medicine Management (incorporating Chemo Care, Pharmacy Stock Control and Electronic Prescribing)
A new Pathology (LIMS) system which will include Order Communications
Single Sign on
An Electronic Patient Record covering, Primary, Secondary, Mental and Social Care Data.
A Nursing Observation System
A Single Sign on System
Delivering this suite of Systems will be the overall responsibility of the Deputy Director of ICT.
The post holder will have overall responsibly for the success of this programme of work controlling the finance and resources to successfully deliver each system on time and within budget.
The post holder is responsible for the development of IT policies and processes to be implemented and operated across the Trust in relation to security, integrity and integration and alignment with other operational systems.
To manage system development and integration requirements for new and existing systems
To ensure the Trust is capable of delivering developments and integration in the most cost efficient and resilient way.
To manage the Trusts IT capital budget and liaise with the DoI&IT to ensure cost effective working.
To ensure the capital allocation/programme is delivered within budget and assist with the planning for future years
To advise on, and make recommendations for future Trust ICT expenditure.
Assess the short and long term financial implications to the Trust of any ICT expenditure.
Identify cost improvement opportunities within ICT to support the Trust CIP programme.
