IT Support Engineer / Project Engineer / Technical Support / £23,000 - 27,000 per annum + benefits / Loughborough

Access IT Recruitment are working with a market leading organisation who are seeking an IT Support Engineer to play a vital role within their Information Systems department.

The company are currently looking to improve processes and protocol's therefore they're seeking a proactive candidate who can bring ideas to the table and recommend solutions.

You will mostly be working on project related activities including the installation of telecoms equipment, servers, thin clients and work stations. Excellent customer service skills are required to interact with all areas of the business. Other responsibilities include the resolution of more complex issues where you will work closely with other areas of the business to deliver robust and timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Prioritisation, management & resolution of support calls

  • Application of standards and protocols

  • Ensuring completion of allocated Support activities within the appropriate SLA's

  • Ensuring compliance with hardware and software standards.

  • Installation, maintenance and support of IT equipment including (but not restricted to) laptops, telecoms equipment, printers, hand-held scanners, thin clients and workstations.

Technical Skills/Experience

  • Previous experience in Help Desk / Technical support experience with a high degree of customer service.

  • Ability to resolve 1st/2nd Line technical support requirements

  • Minimum ITIL Foundation V3 (11) Certified

  • Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal). Able to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences.

  • Experience of 1st/2nd line trouble shooting of hardware, software and network connectivity issues.

  • Setup and trouble shoot LAN printers

  • Experience of installation, troubleshooting and problem resolution;

  • Ability to carry out basic network / PC software & Hardware diagnostics face to face and / or remotely

  • MS Office 2010 or newer

  • Windows 7/10

  • Back Up, anti-virus, firewalls

  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange and other Microsoft Windows server/cloud technologies (administration and configuration of)

  • Willingness to travel to business units within the UK. Roughly 20% of the time
